I want to move out of Indiana. I'm naturally a Southern girl, I just happen to be a Hoosier at heart. I've had Charlotte on my radar for years. WHY-IDK, I don't know anyone personally, but I have an e-friend there. I think I want a fresh start all around or maybe it's a change of scenery. I will be able to experience all seasons there-I like the seasons :-) I did a Charlotte job search, I've looked at apartments to gauge the average rent and funds I will need to get secure an apartment. I've looked into estimates for movers. I've guesstimated furniture funds because this furniture will be left. I know just about how much I will need to move. In my mind I have this move planned for the summer of 2011.I need to find a school for the kids, I don't know which side of town is the side to avoid....all the things you need to k now when moving to a new city. I mentioned this in passing to my BFF and she mentioned it to someone who said "I know someone who works for XYZ, have her forward me her resume so I can pass it on". HUH?!?!? I should have jumped at the offer, but I didn't. I didn't because I'm not ready-in my mind. In this mind of mine, I know I need $$$$ to move, right now I have $...those $'s aren't adding up right now! LOL Here is my perfect scenario: I quit my current job on a Friday, the movers are at the apt packing/loading truck on this same Friday. I also clean up the apartment and pack up the car on Friday and Saturday, Then Sunday, hit the road for that 12+ hour drive, but it will turn into 14 or 15 because of my fellow travellers. Once in Charlotte, get a hotel room, then Monday go to my new apartment and pick up my key. The remainder of the week the movers will deliver my stuff and I will drive around and get lost finding out where everything is. Then the following Monday I will start my new job. Sounds good, right??? Bet it won't happen this way.
Since I already have this "plan" in mind, anything sooner than this will result in the proverbial monkey wrench being thrown into my plans. I don't like monkey wrenches!
Well, enough of my ramblings for now, its time to look up more stuff I thought of while typing this TTFN
